Just clogged again while trying to print a temp tower starting at 270C, ending @ 250C. Cut off part of the filament after canceling it, but still might be clogged, ti was cooling down, so couldn’t stick my declogger in it. But might not need anyways, just load filament and it might declog while purging. Not seeing any leaking yet, while preheating. So it’s probably still clogged.

If changing retraction to 3mm doesn’t fix it, then it might be the filament, and I probably need to dry it. Can’t print a retraction test very well, it clogs too.

Now to declog the printer yet again.

And purging is all it needed. Probably moving the extruder a little would have worked too, probably because I cut some of the end off, in case it was the source of clog.

It was printing the temp tower fine, until it got to the inside.

Maybe I can’t use retraction at all, or the speed is wrong, it’s pretty slow though, works for PETG, and they say the settings are “similar” to PETG for PCTG. Webcam too far to tell if it’s printing right. But don’t think I heard any clicking yet.

Good news, the printer is now pretty much silent, and printing. Bad news, the cooling settings might be wrong. Should probably print one more, with the PETG cooling settings, before doing a real print.

If using a bowden tube setup, and printing PCTG, if it’s clogging, try lowering the retraction, I went from 5.6mm to 3mm, and so far no clogs. If using a direct drive setup, lowering might work too, but 3mm might be too much. Some filament I think only needs 1.5mm retraction for direct drive. If it’s clicking, the retraction may be too high. Or some other setting, like nozzle temperature isn’t high enough.

Damn temperature spikes, don’t get new USB power blocker cable for a while. Using an adapter right now, and it clearly has issues. I doubt there’s a problem with the bed temperature reading on the printer itself. And sometimes that spikes too. Now to go mess with the cable plugged into adapter, sometimes that fixes it. Already replaced the cable, with the one from TH3D.

OctoPrint resends data sometimes too, to the printer. I blame the adapter. Refuse to order the same one, and don’t like Amazon. If I spend money on any of Amazon sale days, it probably won’t be on Amazon. Maybe Costco, since they went against Trump, and kept their diversity policies, non like Target.
