You’ll probably give up, and then you can’t put it back together, because the mount is in the way. So you’ll have to cut it off, I used a rotary tool, basically melts it. I used the highest speed of course.

I modified the design, so I don’t have to remove the rod to put it on, no idea if it works yet, might have cut too much off, or not enough. I’ll print later.

Made a test STL file, cut most of it off, just leaving the part that goes on rod. I should have made that smaller too, that is cut a bunch of the top off. Just need to see if it fits, if so, print the whole thing. Too lazy to cancel print though, so an hour or so wait it is.

Do they allow remixes? I should check, but instead of putting on the other site, I’ll put it here.

Original design

Well, I think I’ll cancel print and test it. You don’t have to modify the design, you can just cancel the print.

Good news, with 10% infill, it bends with PETG, and fits. Going to print the entire thing @ 30% infill, since I don’t know if it will bend @ 100%. Using supports, since I’m not printing it standing up. Hmm, maybe standing up crooked is better, less supports I think. Could be a pain to remove supports. Hmm but will it even print like that? Cuts the time down big time. Just doing it the slow way, cause I want the part that goes on rod to be good.

Modified STL
Test STL

I printed with PETG, and 0.3mm first layer, and 0.2mm following layers, the recommended from the manufacture.

No idea how well PLA bends, probably not too well, so good luck if you use PLA.

Fits on a Creality enclosure, looks like the link is something else now, don’t think the back of mine opens like the one it shows. “Creality 3D Printer Tent Protective Cover Full Range Fireproof and Dustproof Enclosure Mini 3D Printing Room for Ender 3/ Ender 3 V2/ Ender 3 Pro/Ender 3 S1/ Ender 3 S1 Pro (17.5"x22.2"x 27”)" from the order page.

I used tinkercad.com to edit it. Shapr3D sucks for STL files. Or maybe I just don’t have a clue how to use it, fast and easy with Tinkercad. If there was an offline Tinkercad, I’d be happy. Maybe there is, no idea. Would have to work with Linux or macOS, I won’t touch Windows.

Finally done printing. Waiting for printer to cool down, to test it. I should get self tapping screws tomorrow, hopefully the right ones, site said #8 is m6. Or the closest imperial one.

And it works, sweet. Well, I put it on upside down. Just checked the original’s photos. Now to see if it breaks from removing it. LOL. Pain to remove, probably easier to remove top of rod, and slide it off.

On to the next print, 5+ hours to print bottom of a Pi 5 case. Since I’ll probably order the Pi 5 stuff tomorrow, not from Amazon though. They suck ass.

Update
Webcam works, and mount works, even without a screw to lock it into place. Bought the wrong screws on accident, guess #8 isn’t m6x1. Too skinny, and the ones I got are too long. Not sure if the vibrations will move it or not yet.

And it’s in the back now, too close in the front. The computer vision plugin may or may not work with where the camera is, it can see cables too. Depending on how good it’s trained, it might detect an issue because of the cables. And what is /dev/video2? Does this camera have two video devices? Maybe one is wider, that’s the one I should be using… Auto focus is all over the place, sometimes the close stuff, like cable is in focus, then what it’s printing, and so on. Not very good for what I want to do probably. Also, cables block the view.

Ahh, might be a Linux problem, but probably fixable. The auto focus.

Haha bad review, cause they say it’s a hardware defect, maybe, but easy to fix, see here.

v4l2-ctl -d /dev/video1 -c focus_automatic_continuous=0 and maybe v4l2-ctl -d /dev/video1 -c focus_absolute=xxx, might need both. Yup, second one changes focus distance.

Hmm 255 might make everything in focus, works for me. 200 is better, but what if it’s not printing in the center? I’ll know when it’s done printing and moves the bed back.

I think that plugin uses opencv, and you can disable auto focus with that too.

I could move print farther back, except the hole for the filament I made is in the wrong spot. Also, the air filter thing is in the back, so can’t move it back all the way. A ultra wide angle lens might be a better solution.

Think I needed a 1/4"-20 screw. Or move to Europe, and buy m6x1. What is the -20? Easier to find 1/4", but they don’t say -20.
