I used Shapr3D and the STEP file. So you can scale it all at once, and uniform, no need to guess what to scale the axle things to. Except, you might just scale to the same % as you do for the frame in Cura.
No luck 3D scanning my dry box with foot spray, and used almost all of it somehow. All I need is the bottom, and maybe I could make my own spool holder.
But I’m just using this one, and scaling it. Unless it doesn’t work, then maybe I’ll attempt to 3D scan again. Problem is, foot spray makes a massive mess. And air purifiers said the air was bad, well one did. I didn’t even get it all off of the dry box.
Not sure it’s good for cats to inhale. Or humans. Hopefully she didn’t eat any of it.
Should have filled the hole in for the filament, don’t need that. Just need spool holder parts. Oh well, I’m lazy.
The 3D scanning could have worked, if it didn’t scan the damn turntable. Think I need to try without the turntable. Or I need a darker turntable. Not white. Chair could work, but the tripod isn’t the right height, had to put the kitty laptop under turntable to get the right height. You need the exact distance, or it won’t work.
Maybe I should print a turntable, but I mostly have white filament.
Going to try scanning the broken lid for ZeroWater tomorrow maybe. I threw the broken part out. So I’ll have to measure.
I just changed the ZeroWater filter, and the old one is in a box on the floor, and she’s not too happy with the smell. Or maybe she thinks there’s fish, that’s what it smells like. That water won’t hurt her.
Had to do some maintenance on printer, the Z gantry was loose. Not sure it’s as tight as can be, didn’t want to take heater block and crap off again. Also replaced the thermistor, said over 600C once. Which is probably wrong. Might have only needed to do the tuning for the hotend heater. Ordered some from TH3D, before the prices go way up. Maybe those ones are better quality. Or if I crimped the wires, I did a bad job. When I put the new one in, was saying under 10C in OctoPrint sometimes, so I tuned it, and seems fine now.
I could probably scan my hand easier then other stuff.
No I didn’t read manual for it, too lazy.
No real issues printing @ 0.2mm now. Might be a little close on one side. Too lazy to keep changing Z offset till I find the magic number.
Hmm some bad stringing, probably need to lower temperature.
Instead of almost 8" long, it’s almost 4" or so. Looks like 4.086929", should fit, I think it’s 4 1/2 until the indent part.
You need to be smarter then me to modify it to take up all the space. I’d rather make a spool holder from scratch, then modify somebody else’s. I don’t need the holes or anything, just the axle things to hold the spool.
