It’s because the values aren’t exactly the same in the config file for Marlin. I could change it, but I don’t think I care.
I think the X value is less, for the max X or something.
Var is 0.17 now. Not as good as last time. Probably need to set Z offset to 0, and run AutoBim again.
Offset was too close.
Var is 0.2 now. So it’s worse. Maybe the offset still isn’t perfect. Oops, build plate moved while getting stuff off.
0.19 now, only 0.01 difference, from misaligned build plate. Tune menu made it too far. Hmm, closer but worse. Still going to try printing. Only one number over 50 I think.
Changing the offset while printing, made it worse. Farther away, but more blobs. Maybe fading shouldn’t be used when getting the offset.
Probably need to change to 3mm fading.
Got var down to 0.16, think it’s 0.08 farther away. Then the 0.17.
Ran AutoBim again at the better offset, well according to the Tune menu, 0.02 closer I think. Or is it 0.002closer? Not very much.
Var is 0.16 again. There’s a lot of blue though. AutoBim probably works better @ 0 Z offset.
Ran AutoBim with an offset of 0, then made a new bed mesh. The var is 0.16. The Z offset has to be closer now, I didn’t make a new bed mesh yet. Going to try printing with this offset first. It’ll tilt it anyways.
Maybe I should just leave the bed mesh with a Z offset of 0.
You can enable tramming assistant in Marlin, just enabled it in my config. Don’t feel like flashing firmware right now though. Seeing if offset is right yet. Too close as usual, might be -2.12 again though. Might be right finally. Doesn’t look almost transparent anywhere. Didn’t see any gaps yet.
Ok, I don’t think Tune setting Z offset works well with fading on, you probably need babystepping. So disabling fading, until the offset is right. Maybe I won’t bother with fading. Maybe it does work with fading, didn’t change it enough.
So Z should touch the bed at 0? Perhaps, it ain’t working with a gap. I think the internet is wrong. So trying -2.150 now. At least at 0.1mm the 0.1mm feeler gauge is easy enough to get under. The 0.2mm not so easy. So maybe it can print @ 0.1mm but not 0.2mm, if the nozzle can do 0.1mm. OrcaSlicer is set to 0 for the offset.
