Less blobs with that turned off apparently. At least when printing the Z offset calibration.
Might only need to be 0.02 closer though, I’ll check with a feeler gauge in a little while. Hard to remove it hot, then have to heat up the bed again.
The current Z offset is hard to get 0.1mm feeler gauge under it, so thought it would work. Too long to print to just change by 0.02 until it works. Lots of waiting. So see how close until you can’t get the feeler gauge under it. Then make it a little farther.
Looking at other images, one with some gaps, it had blobs too. So I think turning Z hop off did mostly fix the blobs.
Think it’s the same as before -2.18, was using feeler gauge wrong, place it flat on the bed, make sure it’s flat, you can push down on it, and slide it under. Do it fast if the bed is heated. Don’t bother heating the nozzle, it’ll just burn me. Unless your auto leveling likes a heated nozzle. Mine doesn’t seem to care. -2.20 might be a tad too close, I remember before I couldn’t print calibration towers at that. Might lift it up a little too.
So messing with the leveling knobs didn’t change offset.
The var is Bed Visualizer is 0.21 now, instead of 0.22.
MAXTEMP triggered. Might need a PID tuning. Or replace the temperature thing, it came with more then one.
And I should do 220C PID tuning, so I don’t have to run it again for PLA. Probably didn’t have fan on when I did it last time. And there’s another fan in there now too.
Should you wait for it to cool down before running it again? Well, I’ll wait. Ran it wrong the first time.
Now maybe the damn thing will work. Working so far, around 10 minutes left to wait, even though it might not be leaking. Just in case. I don’t want auto leveling to mess up.
No wildly changing nozzle temperature now, or not yet.
Had to remove magnetic base and reattach again, wanted it aligned better. One corner looks missing on it, might be my fault, no idea. Might fix the middle of the bed, better aligned. And I printed too close, lots of blobs, and some of it hard to remove.
Not surprising, had to run AutoBim again. Not as much purple, but blue now. Offset might be wrong, got to check it.
Well, -2.14 could work, -2.18 it lifts up a little. The hotend. -2.16 could work too, but I’ll just try 0.02 closer then -2.12 that had gaps. There’s adhesive or something sticking off the side of the bed, probably from the magnetic base. Couldn’t get it off, even with tweezers, that got some of the black material off the magnetic base though, not what I was trying to do.
All numbers under 100 in Bed Visualizer now. No point in running AutoBim to get the right side better, good enough for me.
To fix your warped bed, the easiest is to put a magnetic base on it, TH3D one is weak though, so maybe just buy a build plate on Amazon that comes with it. But TH3D one might be thinner, so it might still be worth it.
One corner is -0.02, would need to change accuracy to 0.01 to fix that.
Damn lots of blobs. Got to check Z offset yet again.
AutoBim might be making my offset 0mm from the bed, instead of 0.1mm. Would need to change OrcaSlicer if that’s the case. Cura might not be able to print.
Or is that stringing? Not sure making it farther will work, might get gaps, didn’t even leave indents or scratches. So other then the middle of the middle section, it’s pretty damn good. Maybe a temp tower would help, now that the temperature thing is working right.
Damn it, guess I got to print @0.02 farther. If I get gaps, then that isn’t the problem most likely.
Better, print a retract tower, won’t take too long, for my range. Not doing .xxx, just 1-10. Or 3-10. If it can’t print right, it’s too close. I lowered retraction speed too.
