-15 has over extrusion, and -20 might have some under extrusion on the edge.
Oh well, just pick the right one on pass two. It should offset the -5. The fan should only be 1%. Unless it’s an overhang, then 10%.
But it’s going to be about the same as last time I printed the two tests.
All of them, except -20, looks butt ugly. And the first layer on -20 isn’t very good. I was watching it on the first layer. Lines not very close, and possibly didn’t print in one spot, some of them didn’t.
It will be at least -5 on the next one probably. Possible greater than -5 is better, between -1 and -5.
If I wasn’t lazy, I’d calibrate the e steps. But you have to heat it up to unload the filament. But that might solve the problem better.
TH3D says to use 407 for e steps. Seems like a lot.
And -7 didn’t stick very well, so it moved. But the first layer sucks on all of em. Maybe the default value is better. Increasing the bed temp to 95C could help too. Maybe I should have cleaned it with alcohol.
Not looking like going more then -5 is a good idea. Most of those warped, and didn’t stick well. Hmm, maybe more infill sticks better for me.
Can you guess which one I picked? I picked -4.
Maybe the Bed Cement wore off.
How did they get their numbers so good? Most of mine are crap.
And looks like the value is the same as before, when the offset was too close. Except, now it seems too far, at least for the flow calibration, or wasn’t sticking for some other reason.
Reapplied Bed Cement. If that fixes it, I can confirm Bed Cement works. Put too much on it probably. Should have done it the way where you just get lid wet, not try and dump some on build plate.
Haha, applying it very wrong, the thing you need is stuck inside the lid. Need to remove it and put on bottle, then put cap on, or when using don’t put cap back on. That’s what that blue thing is.
Still not sticking good enough. Bed Cement isn’t magic, changed Z offset to a tighter 0.1mm value. That is -06. Does over extruding result in it sticking better or something? Didn’t work, under extrusion might cause bad bed adhesion.
Maybe default flow rate - 0.05 will get rid of blobs, and not need any calibration.
Too much Bed Cement? Just cleaned the bed with alcohol again. Maybe it got some off. Going to check the fucking Z offset, after tilting the mesh.
And -2.10 is tight again, so -2.04 might work again. Before -2.10 was too close. So I’ll try farther away first.
Cleaning glue off the bed is a great idea. Not sure I’ll bother trying to use it again. My glue sticks are easier to apply.
Just had to get the filament off nozzle, before the 0.1mm feeler gauge could fit, used a 0.2mm to break it off while it was down. Tweezers weren’t working, neither did pliers.
Actually, I’ll probably use it for the PETG I bought. Easier to remove then my glue sticks. You need water to remove the glue sticks from build plate.
Now it’s only -0.02 for the flow rate, if I still have gaps, back to the default value for me. If that doesn’t work anymore, it’ll be time to sand bed.
Went back to -2.10, and the default flow rate. Guess calibration doesn’t work if it’s right already.
Or maybe the filament needs drying. Hmm, just checked the offsets, and some are 0, at -2.04, the titled mesh values. Those will change to -0.10 or 0.10. Better change it back.
Sanded bed and changed offset to -2.10. Cleaned it of course. The titled mesh has different values now. So maybe the CRtouch is being a dick.
Somehow Z offset changed to -2.12, -2.04 used to work, and -2.10 sort of worked.
Looking for a bigger 3D printer, so I can print a mini ITX case. Won’t buy this month though. Better, just get the bed upgrade. Not seeing one on that site.
Z calibration @ 0.876 flow rate
Next up the calibrated flow rate of 0.7556. Then bed time. And is that black filament? Nice. Probably cause I took a dump while it was heated up waiting. Took over ten minutes probably. Not filament, gap.
Apparently lower flow rate means you need the nozzle closer. Down to -2.18 now.
Later, I’ll print another one. No photo shared until then. Got to go to bed. This one will look somewhat crappy, cause the brim sucks, and I had to change Z offset to fix it. I was taking another dump too, surprised I finished fast enough.
