0.0 should apparently be 0.1mm away. Or you’ll need to change slicer settings. No wonder I can’t get the right Z offset. But the Z offset is still less then it was, -2.10 vs -1.86.

Soon I’ll find out if it’s good enough. Printing a temp tower with OrcaSlicer. I changed the flow rate back to the default.

If you make it touch the bed it’s -2.20. On my printer.

Fan speed probably too much. And now I can’t get it off without waiting for it to cool down. Got some off. Going to print Z calibration next, to see if it prints right yet. The one made with Cura, since OrcaSlicer settings aren’t right, Cura was working before.

Getting blobs or bumps on the center, the part that matters. Not as bad as it could be. Maybe it’s too hot. Need to print a temp tower, maybe later. And maybe do a flow rate calibration print in OrcaSlicer.

Tried changing Z offset while printing, but too impatient apparently to wait for it to change anything, or going all the way up to -2.00 doesn’t change much.

Considering how good brim is, I doubt the Z offset is wrong. Probably too hot.

Better offset Z calibration print

Maybe blobs aren’t always because of too close Z offset. But using a 0.1mm feeler gauge works good. Using the live adjustment, which sets it to 0 I think.

Z calibration print @ 245C nozzle

Looks pretty similar, maybe change offset to +0.04. If there’s gaps, then the Z offset might be fine. To know for sure, you need to try +0.01 all the way until you get gaps. The brim still looks good. So maybe calibrating the flow rate would be better to do.

@255C and +0.04 offset, it’s worse. So maybe the temperature is the problem, trying 240C now. The lowest they recommend. If it still sucks, I’ll print retract tower. And see if it gets squished.

Will it stick @ 90C bed? Think somebody said they lowered the bed temp too for Polymaker ASA.

240C is basically the same, no need to share photo. Seems to stick @ 90C bed.

Think I need to print with nozzle hotter, with lower bed temp.

240C retract test

Don’t think 240C is hot enough. Makes it not easy to tell what retraction to use. Going to print the Z calibration @ 255C, 90C bed, and whatever retraction I have, probably 3mm.

So far, looks like 90C bed, solved the problem. Got to wait to know for sure. It’s also possible it isn’t sticking as well in some places, hard to tell while it’s printing.

Not as many blobs

Not sure it’s worth decreasing the nozzle temp by 5C. Might be good enough for me. Not printing anything else tonight, rather go to bed early.
